Introduction
If you live in South Korea, you probably open Kakao every day. It's the app people use to chat, pay, call taxis and much more. Millions of people tap its screens without thinking about who designed them.
One of the teams that worked on Kakao's main design is a web agency in Seoul.
Studio-JT is a web design agency in Seoul, South Korea. Korean design press says it built Kakao's main UI and UX and web pages for Life Plus. It also has Red Dot awards for projects with Amorepacific, the big Korean beauty company, and Siemens Healthineers in Germany. On top of client work, it runs its own platforms, including Oksuro, an AI image tool that won a Grand Prix at ICT Award Korea 2024.
I'll be honest: I liked this one for a reason that's personal. Studio-JT made a tool for designers, by designers. Most agencies only build for clients, so a team that also builds for its own community caught my eye.
Quick Answer: Should You Hire Studio-JT?
Yes, if you're a brand building websites or digital products for Korean users and want a team with big-name experience. If you need detailed public facts, prices or English-language case studies before you call, be ready to ask a lot of questions.

How I Researched Studio-JT
Disclosure: my service appears in the alternatives table. Studio-JT and I both design websites, but it's a full agency in Seoul working for large brands, and I'm a solo designer working mostly with agencies.
I haven't worked with Studio-JT. On November 3, 2026, I read a long Korean interview from Digital iNSIGHT magazine, two Red Dot award entries that credit its team, and a 2026 guide to creative agencies in Asia. I also checked carefully that I wasn't mixing it up with a light artist's studio that uses the same name.
One honest note: public facts about the company itself are thin. I found no founding year, founder names or team size. So this review focuses on its work.
What Is Studio-JT?
Studio-JT is, in its own words through the press, a web agency that specializes in web design. But it does a bit more than that.
Here's what stands out:
Big client work: Kakao's main screens and Life Plus web pages.
International work: projects for Siemens Healthineers, a German medical tech company.
Its own products: Oksuro and Qtandard, both built in-house.
A design lead: Jeong Da-woon, who is named as head of design and credited on its Red Dot work.
The team culture also sounds healthy. One staff member started in the customer experience team, then learned prompt writing for AI because the CEO suggested it. She later became one of Oksuro's main artists. I like a company that lets people grow sideways like that.
What Does Studio-JT Do?
Service | In simple words | Real example |
|---|---|---|
Web design | Designing how sites look and work | Life Plus web pages |
UI and UX design | Planning and drawing app screens | Kakao's main UI |
Brand websites | Sites that show a brand's style | Fillvoid for Amorepacific |
Global brand sites | Sites for foreign companies | Brotips for Siemens Healthineers |
Web development | Coding the site | Credited on both Red Dot projects |
Own AI tools | Products the team builds itself | Oksuro image platform |
Oksuro is the clearest example of how this team thinks. Making images with AI is hard, because small changes in your words give very different results. Oksuro shows you the exact prompt and settings behind each image, so you can learn and copy the method. Its slogan is "By Designers, For Designers."
What Does Studio-JT Charge?
Option | Price | What to know |
|---|---|---|
Minimum project | Not public | Ask directly |
Brand website | Custom quote | Likely their main work |
App UI/UX | Custom quote | Bigger, longer projects |
Global site | Custom quote | Ask about English support |
Ongoing updates | Custom quote | Ask about support terms |
The catch to plan for
Since there's little public information, you'll do more homework than usual. You won't find a price range, team size or written reviews online. The Red Dot work and Kakao project show quality, but you'll want to ask who will actually work on your project and how big that team is.
A real-world scenario
Imagine a Japanese skincare brand that wants to start selling in Korea. It needs a Korean website that feels local and trustworthy, not a translated copy.
Studio-JT's work with Amorepacific shows it understands Korean beauty brands well. It might design a calm, image-led brand site in Korean, with clear product pages. If I owned that brand, I'd ask for a mobile-first design, since Korean shoppers mostly buy on their phones.
What Are Clients Saying About Studio-JT?
Studio-JT isn't listed on Clutch or Google reviews, so there are no written client reviews to read.
Here's what the public record shows instead:
Red Dot: credits on projects for Amorepacific and Siemens Healthineers, covering project management, web design and coding.
ICT Award Korea 2024: a Grand Prix for Oksuro in the digital communication category.
Awwwards: a 2026 guide lists six honorable mentions.
Big Korean clients: Kakao and Life Plus, named in press.
That's solid proof of skill. It doesn't tell you how they treat smaller clients.
Can You Trust Studio-JT?
Mostly, yes. Red Dot entries, press interviews and big-brand projects show a real, active agency. Just ask for basic company facts and a reference, since those aren't public.
What I Think as a Designer
What I like most is that Studio-JT builds things for itself. Agencies usually only work on client projects. When a team makes its own tools, it learns faster, tests new tech early and stays curious.
Its client work also shows range. Designing Kakao's screens and a German medical site are very different jobs. Doing both well isn't easy.
My worry is transparency. I'd love to see a clear "about" page with founders, team size and a few prices. Without that, buyers from outside Korea may feel unsure.
What Studio-JT Does Well
Big-brand Korean UI work.
Red Dot credits.
Builds its own AI tools.
Design and code together.
Lets staff grow into new roles.
Where Studio-JT Falls Short
Little public company info.
No public prices.
No online client reviews.
Name shared with an art studio.
Mostly Korean content online.
Who Is Studio-JT Right For?
Studio-JT is a good match if you're:
a brand building for Korean users,
a beauty or lifestyle company entering Korea,
a large company needing app and web design,
a foreign brand wanting a Seoul web team.
Who Should Skip Studio-JT?
You'll probably want someone else if you need:
clear public prices before talking,
a small, quick landing page,
a team that works mainly in English,
a no-code site you'll manage alone.
What to Ask Studio-JT on the First Call
"How big is your team, and who would work on our project?"
"Which parts of the Kakao work did you lead?"
"Can your team work with us in English?"
"Could we contact one of your recent clients?"
"What's a normal budget for a brand website?"
"How do you use AI in client projects?"

Who's Behind This Review?
I'm Subarno, a self-taught designer who works solo on brands and no-code websites. Studio-JT is a full Seoul team, while with me you get one person who handles one task at a time and usually finishes it within a day.
My $1,000/month retainer covers:
website design in Figma,
website builds in Framer or Webflow,
branding for smaller businesses, like logos, colors and brand guides,
small website animations and interactions,
banners, posters and social media content.
Book a free 30-minute call or tell me what you are building on my contact page. But if you need a Seoul team that knows Korean users and big-brand apps, Studio-JT is the better choice.
Bottom Line: Is Studio-JT Worth It?
Studio-JT is a Seoul web agency with real big-brand work, Red Dot credits and an award-winning product of its own. For brands targeting Korean users, it's worth a serious look.
The main gap is public information. Ask about team size, budget and references on the first call. If those answers are clear, you'll likely be in good hands.
